Wallace State Park Campground

Open — The campground is open. Campgrounds 1 and 2 operate year-round. Campgrounds 3 and 4 are closed for the off-season from November 1 through April 14. During the off-season, potable water is available only at the frost-free spigot near the dump station. Park gates close at sunset during the off-season.

Wallace State Park Campground is a serene 501-acre retreat located in the rolling farmland of northwest Missouri, less than an hour from Kansas City. The family-oriented campground provides a variety of camping options including basic campsites, electric sites with 30-amp and 50-amp service, and four walk-in tent sites for those seeking more seclusion. Modern amenities include restrooms with hot showers and a trailer dump station. The park surrounds Lake Allaman, a 6-acre lake ideal for fishing, swimming, and boating. Four scenic hiking trails wind through the property with benches placed along the way for relaxation. Shaded picnic sites are scattered throughout the park. The Trice-Dedman Memorial Woods, owned by the Nature Conservancy, adjoins the park and represents one of the finest examples of pre-settlement forest in northwest Missouri. All campgrounds are fully reservable up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system. Campgrounds 1 and 2 operate year-round, while campgrounds 3 and 4 close during the off-season from November 1 through April 14. Playground equipment is located near campgrounds 2 and 4, making this an ideal destination for families seeking a quiet escape near the city.
