Valley of Fire State Park Group Camping Areas provide dedicated overnight camping for larger parties in Nevada's spectacular Mojave Desert landscape. The three group-use sites each accommodate up to 45 people, making them ideal for family reunions, scout troops, or organized outings. Each site features shaded picnic tables, grills, access to water, and restroom facilities. The park encompasses over 40,000 acres of brilliant red Aztec sandstone outcrops, ancient petrified trees, and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. Group campers can explore numerous hiking trails, though several trails close from May 15 through September 30 due to extreme heat. The park's striking rock formations have served as backdrops for numerous films and provide exceptional photography opportunities, particularly during golden hour. Group camping reservations must be made directly through the park office by phone during business hours. Unlike individual campsites which can be booked through ReserveNevada, group sites require calling 702-397-2088. The park closes annually December 1-14 for maintenance. Campers should bring their own firewood, as gathering wood or plant material within the park is prohibited.

Directions

From Las Vegas, take I-15 north approximately 35 miles to Exit 75 (Valley of Fire/Lake Mead). Turn right onto Valley of Fire Road and continue about 17 miles to the park entrance. The visitor center and campgrounds are located along the main park road.
