Valley Of Fire State Park Group Camping Areas

Open — Open year-round by reservation only. Limited to 14 consecutive days per 30-day period. Park gates open daily from sunrise to sunset.

About

Valley of Fire State Park's group camping areas provide an exceptional setting for large gatherings within Nevada's oldest and most visited state park. Three dedicated group-use campsites are available, each accommodating up to 45 people. The sites are available for overnight camping by reservation only through Reserve Nevada. Each group campsite is equipped with shaded tables and grills, with water and restroom facilities available nearby. The park also features a dump station and showers accessible to all campers. The group camping areas are situated within 40,000 acres of brilliant red Aztec sandstone formations, gray and tan limestone mountains, and ancient petrified trees. The park's name derives from these spectacular red sandstone outcrops, formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago during the age of dinosaurs. Visitors to the group camping areas have access to numerous hiking trails, petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years, and a full-scale visitor center with exhibits on geology, ecology, and prehistory. The park is open year-round, though some trails close seasonally from May 15 to September 30 for safety. A 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period is enforced. The park remains open daily from sunrise to sunset, with the visitor center operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
