About

Upper Wind River Campground occupies a scenic stretch of the Wind River just below Boysen Dam in Boysen State Park. The campground features 36 sites including 2 tent-only sites and 34 RV/trailer sites that can accommodate rigs between 20 and 105 feet. Most sites are gravel pull-throughs with fire rings. The location offers more shade trees than other campgrounds in the park, along with a playground and nearby boat ramp. The tailwaters below Boysen Reservoir provide quality fly fishing, making this campground particularly attractive to anglers. Three rental cabins are available at the campground, each with wood furniture, bunk beds, a futon, and an outdoor fire pit and picnic table. The park sits within the Wind River Indian Reservation and offers access to Boysen Reservoir for boating, swimming, and water sports. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water from spigots, and a dump station located at park headquarters (operational April through October). The park grounds are open year-round, 24 hours daily.
