Upper Wind River Camp

Open — Open year-round with reservations required May 15 through September 15. Outside reservation season, sites are first-come, first-served.

About

Upper Wind River Camp sits on the Wind River just below the Boysen Dam at Boysen State Park in central Wyoming. The campground features approximately 50 sites spread along the river, with 24 sites available for advance reservation. Most sites are gravel pull-throughs with minimal amenities, typically including a fire ring and picnic table. The campground is located in a scenic area with shade trees, grass, and dramatic geological features of the Wind River Canyon. The park is home to a local bighorn sheep herd often spotted in the area. The campground provides excellent access to fishing in the Wind River and boating on the 19,560-acre Boysen Reservoir. A dump station is available at park headquarters. Three camping cabins are also located at this campground for those seeking a different camping experience.
