Freier Beach
The campground is open for the 2026 reservation season which runs May 15 through September 15. Reservations can be made through reserve.wyoming.gov or by calling 1-877-996-7275. Outside the reservation season, sites are first-come-first-served.

ESFRIW The interaction between increasing tropical moisture and an approaching midlevel area of low pressure will bring widespread rain showers across a large portion of western Wyoming starting late Saturday night. Given the high moisture content, some areas could feature locally heavy rainfall and possibly lead to localized flooding. Poor drainage areas, urban areas, and steep terrain will be the most susceptible locations for this isolated flooding. Many locations across western Wyoming could see 1 to 2 inches of rainfall through Tuesday morning. Remember, if you encounter a flooded roadway, Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Freier Beach is located within Boysen State Park, a public recreation area surrounding the 19,000-acre Boysen Reservoir in central Wyoming. Freier Beach is located within Boysen State Park, near Shoshoni, Wyoming. From Shoshoni, take U.S. Highway 20 north for approximately 10 miles to reach the park entrance.
