About

Sandy Hills Campground is part of the West Shoreline Loop 1 complex at Boysen State Park, located on the western edge of Boysen Reservoir in central Wyoming. The loop encompasses several small camping areas including Sandy Hills, South Muddy, Fremont Bay, and Libby Point, collectively offering around 20 campsites. The area features a sandy beach, boat launching facilities, a reservable group shelter, and scattered shade trees along the shoreline. Boysen Reservoir spans 19,000 acres and is known for walleye, sauger, perch, and trout fishing. The Wind River Canyon to the south provides dramatic scenery with ancient rock walls rising above the river. The park's location at the northern edge of the Wind River Indian Reservation places it at the transition between high desert and mountain terrain. All campsites at Boysen require reservations through reserve.wyoming.gov or by calling 1-877-996-7275. The reservation season runs May 15 through September 15, though the park operates year-round. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period.
