About
Rock Creek Lake Group Campground is a tent-only walk-in site perched on the shores of Rock Creek Lake at 9,700 feet in Inyo National Forest. Located near Bishop, Tom's Place, and Mammoth Lakes, the campground occupies a private pine forest setting with views of the lake through the trees. The site accommodates up to 25 people and requires booking all six individual sites together as one group reservation. The high-elevation location provides access to exceptional Sierra Nevada recreation. Rock Creek and surrounding waters offer trout fishing for brook, brown, rainbow, and stocked Alpers trout, with golden trout available in the backcountry. The Tamarack Trail begins in the campground and leads to several glacially-carved alpine lakes and ponds. Horseback riding is available at the nearby pack station. Facilities include flush toilets, potable drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings. Bear boxes are provided and mandatory for food storage in this active bear area. A trash dumpster is located in the parking lot adjacent to the group camp. No RVs or trailers are permitted; campers must walk in from the parking area.
