About

Sawmill Campground sits at 6,068 feet elevation approximately one mile north of Jarbidge, Nevada, in the remote northeastern corner of the state within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. This free, primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis and provides a staging area for adventures into the Jarbidge Wilderness, Nevada's first designated wilderness area. The campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and picnic tables, though campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on site. Activities in the surrounding area include fishing in nearby streams, day hiking, OHV road riding, and hunting in season. Horses and pack animals are permitted. The remote location requires significant travel on unpaved roads to reach. The town of Jarbidge, with its Old West character and small year-round population, offers limited services nearby.
