About
Uinta River Group Campground offers a spacious group camping experience in Ashley National Forest, situated in an open meadow beneath towering Ponderosa pines at 7,600 feet elevation. The single group site can accommodate up to 150 people, making it ideal for large gatherings, family reunions, or organized group outings. The campground provides vault toilets, picnic tables, and campfire rings with grills scattered throughout the area. Trash collection is provided. There is no potable water available, so all campers must bring their own drinking water supply. The Uinta River flows nearby, offering fishing opportunities for rainbow, brown, brook, and cutthroat trout. The Uinta River Trailhead is just up the road, providing access to the Chain Lakes region of the High Uintas Wilderness, where hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding are popular activities.
