About
Riverview Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground located at nearly 8,000 feet elevation in the South Slope Western Uinta Mountains of Ashley National Forest. The campground is positioned along the Yellowstone River, providing excellent fishing opportunities for rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout. The campground serves as a staging area for backcountry exploration, with the Swift Creek Trailhead at the end of Forest Road #124 offering access to the High Uintas Wilderness. Facilities are basic, with vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water available. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., including generator use. Dogs must be leashed at all times within the campground, and no shooting of any type is permitted on the grounds.
Directions
From Highway 40 near Duchesne, Utah, head north on Highway 87 for 15.5 miles. Turn at the Mountain Home turnoff onto N 21000 W and continue 2.5 miles. Turn onto N 20780 W/County Road 1566 and travel 4 miles. Turn east onto Yellowstone Road (FR 119) and continue north approximately 10 miles to the campground.
