About
Bridge Campground is located at over 7,600 feet elevation adjacent to the Yellowstone River in the Ashley National Forest, within the South Slope Western Uinta Mountains region. This established campground provides a rustic mountain camping experience in a scenic riverside setting. Access requires traveling north from Duchesne on Highway 87 for 15.5 miles to the Mountain Home turnoff, then continuing north on Yellowstone Road for 6 miles to reach the campground. The campground has strict size restrictions with a maximum RV length of just 15 feet, making it most appropriate for small campers, truck campers, and tent camping. The high elevation location and proximity to the Yellowstone River offer cool summer temperatures and opportunities for fishing and enjoying mountain scenery. The campground serves as a gateway to exploring the western Uinta Mountains and provides a more primitive, less-developed camping experience compared to larger Ashley National Forest campgrounds. Visitors should be prepared for basic amenities and bring their own supplies, as the remote location means limited services. The campground typically operates seasonally during summer months when mountain roads are accessible.
Directions
From Highway 40 in Duchesne, Utah, turn north onto Highway 87. Go 15.5 miles to the Mountain Home turnoff. From Mountain Home, continue north on Yellowstone Road for 6 miles to the Bridge Campground.
