Tyler Bend Campground occupies a peaceful stretch of the Buffalo National River approximately 11 miles northwest of Marshall, Arkansas. The middle river location provides quieter water conditions and an extended paddling season compared to the upper reaches. The campground serves as the primary hub for the park's middle district, with the Tyler Bend Visitor Center located nearby. The facility offers 27 paved drive-in sites suitable for tents, RVs, and trailers, plus 10 walk-in tent sites and 5 group sites accommodating 10-25 people. Amenities include flush restrooms, hot showers, potable water spigots, and a dump station near the Highway 65 entrance. Each campsite has a picnic table, fire ring with cooking grill, and lantern hook. No electrical hookups are available. Historical and natural attractions abound. The Collier Homestead, a restored 1930s Ozark dwelling, is accessible via trail from the campground. The Buffalo River Trail connects to the Ozark Highlands Trail at Woolum. Fishing requires an Arkansas license; smallmouth bass, catfish, and sunfish are common catches.

Directions

From Highway 65 between St. Joe and Marshall, Arkansas, turn onto Ranger Road (signs indicate the turn). The campground is approximately 2.5 miles from the highway. From Springfield, Missouri, take US-65 south 109 miles; from Little Rock, take I-40 west to US-65 north for 74 miles.
