About
Spring Creek Campground is a primitive, tent-only camping facility situated within the Buffalo National River corridor near Harriet, Arkansas. Located at the end of County Road 99, approximately 20 miles south of Yellville and 15 miles north of Marshall off Highway 14, this remote campground offers 12 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees. The campground caters to visitors seeking a backcountry experience along one of the few remaining undammed rivers in the lower 48 states. The facility provides basic amenities including vault toilets and fire rings at each site, but campers must be self-sufficient as there is no potable water, electricity, or flush restrooms available. Each campsite can accommodate up to 6 people and includes a picnic table. Dead and down wood may be collected for firewood. RVs and trailers are not allowed due to the primitive nature of the campground and access road conditions. Visitors should be aware that Spring Creek Landing has been closed to vehicle-assisted launches, though watercraft may still be hand-carried to and from the parking area. The Buffalo National River offers opportunities for canoeing, fishing, and hiking in the scenic Ozark landscape. Quiet hours are enforced between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and stays are limited to 14 consecutive days.
