About

Two Rivers State Recreation Area sits at the confluence of the Elkhorn and Platte rivers, just west of Omaha. The park opened in 1960 and offers diverse camping options across seven campground areas. Sites range from primitive tent camping to full-hookup RV pads with 20, 30, and 50-amp electrical connections. The 25-site equestrian area caters to horse campers, while the ten restored Union Pacific cabooses provide a distinctive glamping experience, sleeping six with modern bathrooms and kitchenettes. The recreation area features seven fishing lakes stocked with channel catfish, bass, bluegill, and seasonal put-and-take trout. A swimming beach operates during summer months. Trails accommodate hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. An accessible fishing pier and playground round out the family amenities. Cottonwood Campground on the north side offers 49 pull-through sites ideal for larger RVs. Five ADA-compliant campsites are distributed throughout the park. Reservations are available for approximately half the sites from mid-April through September; remaining sites are first-come, first-served year-round.
