About

Lake Manawa State Park Campground is a modern, full-service camping facility situated on the shores of an 660-acre oxbow lake formed by a historic Missouri River channel shift. The campground features 40 full-hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, including multiple 80-foot pull-through sites that accommodate large RVs. A secure keypad gate system controls campground access. Amenities include a modern shower house with flush restrooms, an RV dump station, and firewood available for purchase. Paved walking trails connect the campground directly to Lake Manawa Beach and the Dream Playground, Iowa's largest ADA-accessible playground at 18,000 square feet. The park offers swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. The campground operates seasonally from April 15 through October 15. All sites require advance reservations through the Iowa State Parks reservation system; no walk-ins are permitted. The park is located in Council Bluffs, providing convenient access to the Omaha metro area while offering a natural lakeside retreat.
