About

Twin Rivers Primitive Campsites are located within Twin Rivers State Forest, approximately 20 minutes west of Live Oak, Florida. The forest encompasses over 15,000 acres of woodlands, rivers, and springs spread across 15 noncontiguous tracts along the banks of the Withlacoochee and Suwannee Rivers. The campground offers five primitive sites including four group sites and one individual site, all accessible by hiking, paddling, or mountain biking multi-use trails. These are true primitive campsites with no electricity or water hookups. Each site is located along the riverbanks and marked with yellow-banded trees for paddlers. Clear running springs can be found on the Anderson Springs and Pott Springs tracts. The forest is part of the Florida National Scenic Trail and Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, offering excellent opportunities for fishing, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography, and hunting during appropriate seasons.
