Lafayette Blue Springs State Park Cabin Loop Campground
Open — Open year-round. Camping available both first-come, first-served and by reservation through the Florida State Parks system.
About
Lafayette Blue Springs State Park provides a peaceful primitive camping experience in the heart of North Florida's springs country. The tent-only campground features walk-in, pack-in sites with no vehicle access, creating a true backcountry atmosphere while still offering basic amenities. The campground serves dual purposes as both a destination for park visitors and as a river camp for paddlers along the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail. The park centers around a first-magnitude spring that maintains a refreshing 72-degree temperature year-round, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. A natural limestone bridge crosses the spring run, and the turquoise waters flow into the historic Suwannee River. Visitors can explore diverse natural communities along the Green Sink Trail, where plant and animal species change dramatically in just a few hundred feet. The remote location offers excellent dark sky opportunities for stargazing. Wildlife viewing and birding are popular activities, with moss-hung oaks providing habitat for numerous species. The park is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to sundown, with camping available on both a first-come, first-served and reservation basis through the Florida State Parks system.
