About

Dowling Park River Camp is the third of five river camps along the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, a paddling corridor stretching from White Springs to the Gulf coast town of Suwannee. Located approximately 15 miles downstream from Suwannee River State Park, this 47-acre site offers overnight accommodations exclusively for paddlers and hikers, as no vehicle access is permitted. The camp features five screened sleeping platforms, each capable of accommodating up to eight people. Every platform includes a ceiling fan, electrical outlet, hammock hooks for at least three hammocks, a small seat and table, plus an exterior spigot with potable water, fire ring, and picnic table. Additional facilities include air-conditioned restrooms with hot showers, a picnic pavilion with grills, and a primitive tent camping area along the sandy riverbank. Nearby Advent Christian Village offers supplementary services including a grocery store, cafe, and medical facilities for paddlers needing supplies between river segments.

Directions

Accessible only by water via the Suwannee River or by hiking trail. No vehicle access. Paddlers typically launch from Suwannee River State Park (approximately 15 river miles upstream) or coordinate shuttle services through local outfitters.
