About
Adams Tract River Camp is one of five river camps along the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, located at river mile 85.5 within a Suwannee River Water Management District property. The camp is accessible only by water, positioned a few miles upriver from Troy Spring State Park and approximately 9.3 river miles from Branford. The facility features five screened sleeping platforms, each accommodating up to eight people and equipped with ceiling fans, electrical outlets, hammock hooks, and small tables. Each platform includes an adjacent water spigot providing potable water, fire ring, and picnic table. The campground also offers primitive camping areas, hot showers, restrooms, grills, and a picnic pavilion. All camping is free of charge. The surrounding longleaf pine community provides ample hiking opportunities, and open treeless areas offer exceptional stargazing with minimal light pollution. Paddlers typically arrive from Peacock Slough (9.7 miles upriver) and continue to Branford. Local outfitters can arrange gear and food delivery to the camp. Scheduled hunting occurs on the property during certain times of year, though the camp itself remains unaffected.
