About
Twin Lakes Day Use Area is a 152-acre recreation site on Hartwell Lake in Oconee County, South Carolina, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The facility is set within a dense overstory of pines and mixed hardwoods, providing ample shade for visitors. The day-use area features two designated swimming beaches with panoramic lake views, a two-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock popular for fishing tournaments, 27 picnic sites, two reservable picnic shelters with water and electric service, two comfort stations, and a playground. The boat ramp is heavily used during spring and summer and serves as a launch point for numerous fishing tournaments. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted. The day-use area operates seasonally from May 1 through September 4, though the boat ramp remains open year-round. Day-use access costs $7 per vehicle.
