This free, walk-in campground in Sumter National Forest's Andrew Pickens Ranger District provides a remote camping experience with basic amenities including vault toilets, picnic tables, and food storage lockers. The 0.25-mile walk from the parking area to campsites helps maintain a peaceful atmosphere. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring the Ellicott Rock Wilderness and numerous hiking trails. Popular destinations include King Creek Falls, Spoonauger Falls, and Lick Log Falls. The Chattooga River offers exceptional fishing opportunities, stocked with rainbow, brown, and native brook trout by the SC Department of Natural Resources. No potable water is available at the campground; visitors must bring their own or treat water from nearby sources. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations and a 14-day stay limit. Saddle, pack, and draft animals are prohibited.
