About

Located in South Carolina's Upcountry near Mountain Rest, Oconee State Park spans 1,165 acres and provides a relaxing mountain getaway with a rich history. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the park retains its rustic character with historic cabins and a natural woodland setting at the edge of the Blue Ridge Escarpment. The campground offers 110 standard sites with water and electric hookups, 24 full-hookup sites with sewer connections, and 15 walk-in tent sites with fire rings and centralized water access. All sites include picnic tables. Facilities include restrooms with hot showers, a dump station, and a camp store open daily from 9am to 5pm. Trash collection is provided twice daily. Beyond camping, the park offers a swimming lake with pedal boat, kayak, canoe, and SUP rentals, plus an 18-hole mini golf course. The 2.3-mile Oconee Trail loops through the campground area, and the park serves as the southern terminus for the 77-mile Foothills Trail traversing the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
