About

Twin Dikes Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the southern shore of Sam Rayburn Reservoir, Texas's largest lake entirely within the state. The park sits in the Big Thicket region, the densest portion of the Piney Woods characterized by temperate coniferous forests. Spring brings neotropical migrants including warblers and vireos, making it a prime birding destination. The campground features 43 campsites with varied hookup configurations: non-electric tent sites, 30-amp electric sites with water, 50-amp sites with water, and full-hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer. Three screened shelters are also available. All campers have access to hot showers, flush restrooms, potable water, a dump station, and covered picnic tables. Sam Rayburn Reservoir is a premier fishing destination, particularly for largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. The park's two boat ramps with eight launching lanes provide easy lake access, and Sam Rayburn Marina Resort is adjacent to the park.
