About
Mill Creek Park sits tucked in the piney woods of southeast Texas on Sam Rayburn Reservoir, a 114,000-acre impoundment that draws anglers year-round for largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish tournaments. The campground offers 110 sites split between 30-amp and 50-amp electric service, all with water hookups and paved back-in driveways. Four waterborne restroom/shower buildings are distributed throughout the park. Recreational facilities include a two-lane boat ramp, designated swimming beach (seasonal), group shelter, two playgrounds, volleyball court, and horseshoe pit. The surrounding Angelina National Forest hosts bald eagles in winter and a resident population of red-cockaded woodpeckers. A 28-mile trail from the lake's eastern edge leads to Toledo Bend Reservoir for extended hiking opportunities. Sites 47-110 remain open year-round while sites 1-46 operate seasonally from March 1 through November 30. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov up to 6 months in advance.
