Twin Cove Point

Closed — Closed for the winter season. The day-use area typically operates April through October from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., though the boat ramp and primitive campsites remain accessible year-round.

About

Twin Cove Point sits on the north side of Birch Lake, a 1,137-acre impoundment on Birch Creek in Osage County, Oklahoma. This Corps of Engineers facility is cradled in valleys surrounded by rolling, forested hills dominated by post oak, blackjack oak, hickory, and elm. The area functions primarily as a day-use facility with 11 primitive campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis during the operating season, along with 40 picnic sites and three group shelters that accommodate up to 30 people each. The facility offers diverse recreational opportunities year-round. Anglers can target largemouth bass, walleye, spotted bass, smallmouth bass, hybrid striped bass, black and white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and sunfish. The area includes a designated swim beach with safety boundaries, a boat ramp with courtesy dock, and a playground. Most sites feature a mix of sun and shade, with the shoreline ranging from gentle to steep slopes with numerous rock outcrops. Hunting is permitted for bobwhite quail, mourning dove, fox and gray squirrel, cottontail rabbit, and whitetail deer.
