About
McFadden Cove is a compact 15-site campground operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along the banks of Kaw Lake in Osage County, Oklahoma. Situated near the Kaw Lake dam and within easy reach of Hideaway Marina, the campground offers a quiet lakeside setting with direct access to excellent fishing waters. Every site features 30-amp electric service and an individual water hookup on a gravel pad, with a fire ring and picnic table at each site.
Kaw Lake covers 17,000 surface acres with 168 miles of shoreline. Anglers target the lake's renowned catfish populations along with crappie, white bass, and walleye. Hunters find excellent whitetail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, and squirrel in the surrounding area, and the lake attracts large numbers of migrating ducks and geese during waterfowl season. In winter, Kaw Lake hosts one of Oklahoma's largest populations of bald eagles.
Nearby attractions include several Native American historical sites, archaeological points of interest, and the Pioneer Woman Museum in Ponca City. The campground is about 7 miles east of Ponca City on Lake Road.
Directions
