About

Tuttle Creek Cove Campground is a large lakeside campground located on the shores of Tuttle Creek Lake in northeast Kansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this 252-acre park provides a quiet retreat in the northern Flint Hills region. The campground offers 39 campsites with water and 50-amp electric hookups, 17 non-electric sites, and 2 walk-in tent sites, accommodating a variety of camping preferences. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, a sanitary dump station, playground, swimming beach, and a boat ramp with courtesy dock. Tuttle Creek Lake spans 10,900 acres of water and 20,000 acres of surrounding land, providing extensive recreational opportunities. Anglers can fish for crappie, walleye, and channel catfish, while boaters enjoy water skiing and pleasure boating on the main lake. The area features miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. Wildlife viewing is popular, with bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkeys commonly spotted around the lake. The campground is conveniently located near Manhattan, Kansas, with easy access to attractions including Konza Prairie, Kansas State University, and Fort Riley. Entrance gates close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. The terrain between campsites and shower buildings is steep and does not meet accessibility standards.

Directions

From the intersection of US-24 and K-13 at the west end of the dam, turn east onto K-13, then immediately turn north onto Tuttle Cove Road and continue 3 miles to the campground entrance.
