About
Outlet Park is situated below the Tuttle Creek Lake Dam on the Big Blue River in the northern Flint Hills region of Kansas. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this popular day-use destination serves locals and visitors looking for outdoor recreation just minutes from Manhattan.
The park features five reservable group picnic shelters available from mid-April through October, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings and group events. Anglers frequent the park for fishing access along the Big Blue River, while disc golf enthusiasts enjoy the 18-hole course. The one-mile Blue River Trail loop provides excellent wildlife viewing opportunities year-round, with chances to see bald eagles, white-tailed deer, Canada geese, and wild turkeys.
Located in the scenic Flint Hills landscape characterized by flat-topped hills, limestone outcrops, and well-defined stream channels, Outlet Park offers a natural setting for picnicking, hiking, and wildlife photography. The park is open daily from 6am to 10pm throughout the year, though group shelter reservations are only available seasonally.
