About

Turtle River North Campground occupies the northern section of Turtle River State Park's modern camping area, set within a beautiful wooded valley carved by the Turtle River in Grand Forks County. The park's infrastructure dates to the 1930s when the Civilian Conservation Corps developed the area, and that legacy remains visible in the mature tree canopy and stonework throughout the grounds. The North Campground offers modern sites equipped with water and 50-amp electric hookups. Nearly all sites are pull-through configurations shaded by large trees. A central dump station is located near the campground entrance. Facilities include a comfort station with flush toilets and showers. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at sites. Beyond camping, the park features over 13 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking in summer, and cross-country skiing and sledding in winter. A visitor center provides orientation and interpretive materials. Primitive tent camping areas (Riverside, Cottonwood Crest, and Trapper's Rest) are available elsewhere in the park for those seeking more seclusion.
