Sherlock Park Campground is located within the Red River State Recreation Area, a unique urban-state park established after the devastating 1997 flood that reshaped East Grand Forks and Grand Forks. The Federal Emergency Management Agency acquired 500 homes and buildings along the Red and Red Lake Rivers, transforming the area into a 1,200-acre natural buffer and recreation destination. The campground features 113 sites offering a mix of full-service, rustic, and walk-in options. Most sites are spacious with long driveways accommodating pull-through and back-in parking. The 85 electric sites include full hookups with water and sewer connections. Four secluded walk-in sites border the Red River, providing more private camping experiences with fishing access steps from your tent. The campground is shaded by mature trees and features gravel sites with paved access roads. Campers enjoy access to approximately 20 miles of paved multi-purpose Greenway trails connecting both sides of the Red River between Minnesota and North Dakota. The location offers excellent fishing opportunities, a nearby playground built as a memorial, picnic shelters, and birdwatching opportunities for species including great blue herons, bald eagles, and migrating songbirds. The urban setting provides walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and entertainment while maintaining a natural riverside atmosphere.

Located in East Grand Forks at 4th Street Northwest and 5th Avenue Northwest, south of Highway 2. Access via city streets through urban area near Sherlock Park.
