About

Tule Campground occupies the northeastern shore of Success Lake, an 82,500 acre-foot reservoir managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in partnership with Tulare County Parks. Located 8 miles east of Porterville via Highway 190, the campground provides easy access to the Sierra Nevada foothills while remaining close to town amenities. The campground contains 103 campsites spread across two loops (North Tule and South Tule). Approximately 31 sites offer electric hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, while the remainder are non-electric. Every site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, playgrounds, and a sanitation dump station. Boat ramps provide direct lake access for watercraft. Success Lake offers excellent opportunities for boating, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Anglers target bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, and occasional trout. The landscape features sparse oak stands with limited shade, but springtime brings colorful wildflower displays across the surrounding foothills. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, park rangers host Saturday evening campfire programs at the amphitheater.
