Tule Campground is located at Success Lake in the Sierra Nevada foothills just 8 miles east of Porterville, California. The campground sits on the northeastern shore of the 2,450-acre lake in an area dotted with sparse stands of trees. When full, Success Lake covers 82,500 acre-feet of water and provides excellent opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill, and occasional trout. Kayaking the lake's quiet, unpopulated coves is a favorite activity among visitors. The campground offers 103 sites, several with electric hookups, and is open year-round. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Playgrounds and boat ramps are located on-site for family recreation. An amphitheater hosts campfire programs presented by Park Rangers on Saturday evenings from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Shade is limited throughout the campground, but springtime brings a beautiful display of wildflowers blooming on the surrounding foothills. All driveways are paved, making the campground accessible for various camping units.

Directions

From State Highway 99, head east on Highway 190 for 25 miles until you reach the campground entrance. Follow the signs to Tule Campground.
