About
Grouse Valley Cabins is a complex of three rental cabins located in the Giant Sequoia National Monument within Sequoia National Forest. The facility includes the Lakeside Cabin (accommodating up to 12 people), the Hillside Cabin (up to 10 people), and the Caretakers Cabin (up to 10 people). Each cabin features full kitchens, living and dining areas, full bathrooms, hot showers, electricity, and laundry facilities. The Lakeside Cabin is a two-story log cabin spanning 1,550 square feet with an 8-foot covered deck on three sides, while the Hillside Cabin offers 1,400 square feet with similar deck features. The property is nestled in a scenic open valley at 4,800 feet elevation, containing two man-made lakes surrounded by pine and oak trees, along with small fruit and nut orchards including apple and almond trees. The spring-fed upper lake feeds into the lower lake, creating excellent opportunities for fishing and canoeing. The facility includes a barn, hay shed, horse corrals, and a pasture for visitors who bring horses. All California Department of Fish and Wildlife and U.S. Forest Service regulations apply. Visitors should be prepared for variable weather including warm afternoons, chilly nights, afternoon thunderstorms, and possible snow dustings in early spring and late fall. The surrounding lands are open to public walk-in access. Guests must provide their own linens, pillows, blankets, towels, toiletries, toilet paper, food, and trash bags, and must pack out all trash. Pets are not allowed inside the cabins.
