Coy Flat Campground is a charming, small campground situated at 5,000 feet elevation within the Giant Sequoia National Monument, 20 miles east of Springville near the community of Camp Nelson. The campground features 19 single family sites and 1 double family site, with vault toilets, picnic tables, and BBQ stoves at each site. Hikers can access the Bear Creek Trail, which climbs through diverse terrain to 9,000 feet elevation. The Middle Fork of the Tule River and Bear Creek are within walking or short driving distance, offering year-round fishing opportunities for trout. Consult California Department of Fish and Wildlife for current fishing regulations. The campground is managed by ExplorUS under concessionaire permit with the Forest Service. Basic supplies and services are available at Camp Nelson (1 mile away) and Pierpoint Springs Resort (2 miles away). Campfire permits are required for all fires, stoves, and barbeques.
