About

Belknap Campground sits at 4,800 feet elevation in the Western Divide Ranger District of the Giant Sequoia National Monument. The campground features 15 tent-only sites nestled along Belknap Creek, providing a quiet forested retreat with access to some of California's most impressive giant sequoia groves via nearby hiking trails. Each site includes a picnic table and BBQ stove, with vault toilets and potable water available in the campground. This is bear country, so proper food storage is required. The Middle Fork of the Tule River is within walking distance and offers year-round fishing with a valid California fishing license. Supplies are available at Camp Nelson and Pierpoint Springs, both within 2 miles. The campground is tent-only; trailers, RVs, and off-road vehicles are not permitted. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with a maximum of 6 guests and 1 vehicle per site. Pets are allowed on a 6-foot leash. Firewood must be local; bringing outside firewood is prohibited to prevent pest spread.
