About

Tule Campground at Success Lake offers a convenient year-round camping destination in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Tulare County. Located just 8 miles east of Porterville via Highway 190, this US Army Corps of Engineers facility provides 103 campsites on the northeastern shore of the lake. The landscape features sparse stands of trees with limited shade, though springtime brings wildflowers blooming across the surrounding foothills. The campground caters to both tent campers and RV enthusiasts with a mix of electric sites (featuring both 30 amp and 50 amp hookups) and standard non-electric sites. Many sites include water hookups nearby, and the campground provides flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station. Pull-through sites are available, with some accommodating vehicles up to 60 feet. Success Lake covers up to 2,450 surface acres when full and offers excellent recreation including boating, swimming, kayaking, and fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill. From Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends, Park Rangers host Saturday evening campfire programs at the amphitheater.
