About
Triangle Lake Campsites are two dispersed primitive sites located in the heart of the Ironjaw Semi-Primitive Area within Hiawatha National Forest. Site 1 is a long, narrow site (100 ft x 30 ft) on a level sandy strip between the lake and a small wetland pond, suitable for up to three families and trailers, with excellent swimming conditions. Site 2 is smaller (40 ft x 40 ft), located in wooded lowland, suitable for one family, with trailers not recommended due to limited turn-around space. Triangle Lake spans 169 acres and boasts a strong fishery of northern pike, smallmouth bass, bluegills, crappie, and perch. Boat access is available at Site 1 only, though the sandy access and limited turn-around make carry-in recommended. Swimming is excellent at Site 1 but not recommended at Site 2. Horse camping is allowed at both sites with designated tethering areas. Both sites connect to the Pine Marten Run Trail for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. This is a true primitive camping experience with no potable water, no trash service (pack-in/pack-out), and only a primitive toilet at Site 1. Firewood collection of dead and down wood is permitted.
