About

Lake Nineteen Campsite offers a truly rustic camping experience in the heart of the Ironjaw Semi-Primitive Area within Hiawatha National Forest. This single-site campground is located on the eastern shore of Lake Nineteen and can only be reached by boat, or by foot or horseback from the Pine Marten Run Trail, located approximately 2.5 miles from the Pine Marten Run Middle Trailhead. The site is suitable for one family with tents and provides a peaceful, semi-primitive setting. Lake Nineteen has been stocked with rainbow trout, making it a destination for anglers. A boat launch is available on the west side of the lake, though access is steep and requires backing trailers down the hill as there is no turn-around. Parking is restricted to a small area at the top of the hill. The swimming area is of poor condition. This is a true pack-in, pack-out site with no toilet facilities or drinking water available. Campers should come fully self-sufficient. The campground is managed to provide quiet, peaceful recreation opportunities in a semi-primitive setting. The surrounding area offers opportunities for berry picking, horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking on the Pine Marten Run Trail system. Visitors can collect dead and down firewood from the surrounding area, but must not bring firewood from outside the region to prevent the spread of invasive pests.

From the parking area, access the campsite by boat, or on foot or horseback via the Pine Marten Run Trail (approximately 2.5 miles).
