About
Little Bass Lake Campsites is located in the Rapid River/Manistique Ranger District of Hiawatha National Forest, offering an uncrowded and serene camping experience. The campground has 8 rustic campsites spread throughout a wooded area along an 84-acre lake. Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and berry picking in a peaceful natural setting with few neighbors. The lake features a carry-in boat launch and supports a diverse fishery including largemouth bass, bluegills, northern pike, black crappies, and perch. Michigan fishing licenses are required. While drinking water is available at the campground, the facilities remain primitive with vault toilets and no hookups. Campers must pack out all trash as part of the pack-in, pack-out policy. The campground is approximately 22 miles north of Manistique via M-94 and county forest roads. Horse, bike, and hiking trails are within minutes of the sites. Supplies, including gasoline, groceries, fishing gear, boat rentals, and licenses, are available in Steuben, about five miles northeast. The 14-day stay limit applies, and campsites must be occupied the first night and cannot be left unattended for more than 24 hours.
