Training Pavilion At Cma Withlacoochee State Forest

Open

This is a day-use pavilion only, not an overnight campground. The pavilion is available for reservations year-round at $18.78 per day through the Florida State Forests reservation system.

About

The Training Pavilion is a reservable day-use shelter located within the Croom Motorcycle Area (CMA) of the Withlacoochee State Forest in Hernando County, Florida. This covered pavilion accommodates groups of up to 50 people and serves as a gathering point for off-highway vehicle riders and groups visiting the area. The facility does not offer overnight camping. The Withlacoochee State Forest spans over 165,000 acres across five counties and features the Withlacoochee River, Little Withlacoochee River, and Jumper Creek, all designated as Outstanding Florida Waters. The forest provides habitat for bald eagles, fox squirrels, gopher tortoises, white-tail deer, and wild turkeys. Amenities at the pavilion itself are minimal. The nearest restroom facilities are approximately 300 yards away at Hammock Day Use Area. Electrical power is not provided; users must bring personal generators. For overnight camping in the Croom Motorcycle Area, visitors should book at nearby Buttgenbach Campground, which offers developed sites with electric and water hookups, bathhouses, and an ATV wash station.
