In west central Florida, Citrus and Hernando. * WHEN...Until 1230 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1048 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Silver Lake Campground occupies a naturally screened setting on Silver Lake within the 157,000-acre Withlacoochee State Forest, Florida's third-largest state forest. Located in the Croom Tract just five miles from I-75, the campground offers convenient access while maintaining a forested atmosphere. All 23 sites include water and electric hookups with 30 and 50-amp service, fire rings with cooking grates, and picnic tables. Facilities include a bathhouse with flush restrooms and showers, plus a dump station. The adjacent Silver Lake Day-Use Area features a boat ramp providing access to Silver Lake and the Withlacoochee River system for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. The campground connects to the Withlacoochee State Trail and other hiking opportunities within the Croom Tract. Site configurations vary from 30 to 50 feet, with pull-through sites available at positions 1, 2, 7, and 19. Sites 19, 20, and 21 offer enhanced ADA accessibility. Due to the proximity to I-75, road noise may be audible at times.

Directions

From I-75, take Exit 301 (US-98/Brooksville). Head east on US-98 for approximately 1 mile, then turn south on Croom Road. Follow Croom Road to Silver Lake Road and turn left. The campground is at 31475 Silver Lake Road, Brooksville, FL 34602.
