About
Wood Camp Campground sits along the banks of the Logan River just off the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway at an elevation of 5,600 feet. Located 13 miles east of Logan, Utah, this small campground provides a quiet, shaded retreat with the sounds of the river as a backdrop. With only 6 single campsites, the campground maintains an intimate atmosphere ideal for those seeking a more secluded camping experience.
Each campsite accommodates up to 8 people and one vehicle, with additional vehicles permitted for $10 per day. All sites feature picnic tables and fire rings surrounded by plenty of shade trees. The campground operates on a reservation system through Recreation.gov with a 2-night minimum on weekends and 3-night minimum on holiday weekends.
A major highlight is the immediate access to the Old Juniper Trailhead located just outside the campground. This trail leads to the Jardine Juniper, estimated to be 1,500 years old and considered one of the oldest trees in the Rocky Mountains. The Logan River offers excellent trout fishing opportunities, while the surrounding Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest provides extensive terrain for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. The campground's location along the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway makes it an ideal base for exploring the dramatic limestone walls, fossil-laden rock formations, and stunning autumn colors that define this northern Utah canyon.
