About

The Cove Day Use Area sits along the western shore of Timothy Lake in Oregon's Mount Hood National Forest. This popular day-use site offers picnicking beneath towering conifers, swimming in clear mountain waters, and shore fishing for trout and kokanee salmon. The area also serves as a base for exploring nearby hiking and biking trails, including access to the Timothy Lake Trail system. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted. Visitors will find vault toilets and picnic tables, but no potable water is available. There is no boat ramp at The Cove; watercraft access is available at nearby Pine Point Day Use Area. The site is operated by Portland General Electric in partnership with the US Forest Service.
