About
Pine Point Campground occupies a forested setting on the south shore of Timothy Lake, a 1,400-acre reservoir created in 1956 as part of the Oak Grove Hydroelectric Project. Nestled in mixed conifers at 3,400 feet elevation, the campground offers standard single sites, double sites, and large group camps, many with views of the water. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Vault toilets and potable water from hand pumps are provided. Timothy Lake is one of the larger lakes in Mount Hood National Forest and supports kokanee salmon and various trout species. A boat ramp at Pine Point provides direct lake access; motorized boats are limited to 10 mph. The 12-mile Timothy Lake Trail circles the lake on relatively flat terrain suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, and connects to the Pacific Crest Trail. The historic Clackamas Lake Ranger Station is less than 3 miles away. The campground is operated by PGE Parks & Campgrounds and reservations are handled through Recreation.gov. Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% camping discount. Check-in is at 4 PM and checkout is at noon. Sites must be occupied each night or the reservation is forfeited.
