Closed — Closed for the season. The campground closes December 1 annually when the access road becomes a snowmobile trail and reopens in mid-May. First-come, first-served only with no reservations.

Order 015 - Road Use Regulations - Forest Development
Code of Federal Regulations, the following acts are prohibited on all Forest Development Roads under the jurisdiction of the Black Hills National Forest:

About
Timon Campground is a small, intimate campground located in Little Spearfish Canyon within the Black Hills National Forest. With only seven campsites situated adjacent to Little Spearfish Creek, it offers a peaceful setting surrounded by stands of ponderosa pine, quaking aspen, and paper birch. The campground provides spectacular views of limestone cliffs and the soothing ambiance of the creek. The Little Spearfish Trailhead is located nearby, offering a non-motorized 6-mile loop trail that meanders through diverse forest ecosystems. The trail provides excellent opportunities for hiking and viewing scenery, complemented by the sounds of Little Spearfish Creek. Each campsite includes one picnic table and one fire grill. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no reservation system. The campground operates seasonally from mid-May through November 30, closing December 1 when the access road becomes a snowmobile trail. During peak season (mid-May through late September), drinking water is available from a hand pump, though water service is unavailable during shoulder seasons and winter months.
Directions
From Spearfish, travel south on US Highway 14A to Savoy, then turn right (west) onto Forest Service Road 222 (Roughlock Falls Road). Travel approximately 3.5 miles to the campground entrance.
