About

Roubaix Campground occupies a scenic position among Ponderosa pines along the north shore of Roubaix Lake in Black Hills National Forest. At 5,500 feet elevation, the campground stays comfortable during hot summer days and provides cool evenings. Sites are dispersed across four loops (A, B, C, and D), with many offering direct lake views and generous spacing for privacy. The adjacent day-use area features a popular swim beach and boat launch for non-motorized watercraft. Roubaix Lake offers fishing for brook and rainbow trout. A 1-mile multi-use trail connects to a broader network open to horseback riders, mountain bikers, and OHV riders. The historic town of Deadwood is a short drive north, and Mount Rushmore is less than an hour away. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and gravel parking spur. Vault toilets are available year-round. Potable water is turned on from the weekend before Memorial Day through the weekend after Labor Day. Loops A, B, and D close for winter on September 30; Loop C remains open year-round with reduced services and no winter maintenance or snow plowing.
