About

Timber Creek Recreation Area is a small, rustic campground nestled in the Huron-Manistee National Forests in Lake County, Michigan. The site's primary draw is serving as a trailhead for the North Country National Scenic Trail, making it popular with hikers exploring this long-distance trail. A small impoundment is located nearby, though it's not particularly popular for fishing. The campground offers basic amenities typical of national forest sites, including vault toilets and potable drinking water available from a hand pump. The site operates year-round and is plowed during winter months, providing access to the Ward Hills Snowmobile Trail for winter recreation enthusiasts. ORV use is prohibited within the campground. Camping is first-come, first-served at $10 per night for single sites. Interagency Senior and Access Recreation Pass holders receive a 50% discount on the camping fee. Day use is also available at $5 per vehicle per day or $15 for a seven-day pass.
