About
Old Grade Campground is nestled on the Little Manistee River within the Manistee National Forest, completely surrounded by National Forest System land. The campground offers a peaceful setting for anglers seeking trout in the shallow waters of the Little Manistee, though canoeing is not recommended on this portion of the river due to low water depth. A short interpretive hiking trail with foot bridges winds from the campground through a scenic hemlock and birch forest, providing an educational walk through the area's natural features. The campground's proximity to wetlands and open fields makes it a prime location for wildlife observation. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with sites priced at $24 per night. Payment is accepted by cash or check only. Each site includes a table and fire pit, with vault toilets and drinking water available. Located 11 miles north of Baldwin on M-37, the campground provides a rustic forest experience with basic amenities.
