About

Old Grade Campground sits along the banks of the Little Manistee River in Michigan's Manistee National Forest, completely surrounded by National Forest System land. The campground provides a quiet, wooded retreat with vault toilets and potable water from faucets. A short interpretive hiking trail with footbridges winds through a scenic hemlock and birch forest, offering an easy nature walk for campers of all ages. The Little Manistee River here is a destination for anglers pursuing trout and steelhead. While the river at this location is too shallow for canoeing, the fishing opportunities are excellent. The campground's proximity to wetlands and open fields makes it a prime spot for observing wildlife. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. The campground operates seasonally from late April through mid-September. Overnight camping costs $30 per night, with day use at $10 per vehicle. Interagency Senior and Access pass holders receive a 50% discount on single campsites.
