A slow moving weather system will continue to impact the region through Sunday. Thunderstorms embedded in the more general rainfall have the potential to produce flash flooding, particularly over recent burn scars. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with flash flooding over recent burn scars. * WHERE...All of South Central and Southeast Montana, and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Total rainfall amounts between 1 and 3 inches will be common across the watch area. Locally heavier totals over 4 inches are possible where thunderstorm activity is more persistent. - The Robertson Draw, East Side, Elk, and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to Flash Flooding and debris flows. Timber Camp Campground is a small, primitive campground nestled in the West Absaroka Mountains on the Gardiner Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. With just three campsites, it offers a quiet retreat for those seeking solitude near the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park. The campground features open parking with rock fire rings at typical sites and a vault toilet for basic sanitation. This free campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations available. Two horse corrals are located past the campground, making it a good option for equestrian campers exploring the surrounding backcountry. There is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. Trash service is not provided, requiring visitors to pack out everything they bring in. The area offers opportunities for day hiking and nature observation. A food storage order is in effect on the Gardiner Ranger District from March 1 through December 1, requiring proper storage of food and attractants due to bear activity.

From Gardiner, travel 5 miles northeast on Jardine Road, then 4 miles northeast on Bear Creek Road (Forest Road 493).
