About

Anderson Camp is a primitive camping area in the Mill Creek drainage of the Custer Gallatin National Forest, located approximately 15 miles south of Livingston, Montana. The site sits within the Yellowstone Ranger District and provides access to the rugged Absaroka Range and the surrounding Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. This is undeveloped, dispersed camping with no facilities. Campers must bring their own water, pack out all trash, and be fully self-sufficient. The area is managed as part of the Mill Creek primitive camping zone, which offers designated car camping spots without amenities. A food storage order is in effect throughout the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Bear canisters or proper food storage is required to protect both visitors and wildlife. The area offers fishing opportunities for whitefish, rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout, as well as access to wilderness hiking trails.
