About

Tillie Creek #1 Group Campground is located on the scenic west shore of Lake Isabella within Sequoia National Forest. The 11,000-acre reservoir marks the division between the Upper and Lower Kern Rivers and draws visitors for windsurfing, fishing, and boating. The group site is nestled in oak trees that provide welcome shade during hot summer months when temperatures can exceed 100°F. This group campground accommodates up to 60 guests and is ideal for family reunions or large gatherings. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, picnic tables, fire rings, a shade shelter, and access to a playground. A marina and boat ramps are located just south of the campground. An RV dump station is available nearby for $25. The site is managed by the ExplorUS concessionaire and requires advance reservations through Recreation.gov. Quiet hours are enforced from 10pm to 6am. Pets are permitted on a 6-foot leash. Note that fire danger in this area is often elevated, and campfire permits are required; wood fires may be prohibited depending on current restrictions.
