About

Camp 9 Group Site #2 is located on the shores of Lake Isabella, a high desert reservoir in Sequoia National Forest's Kern River Ranger District. This group campground accommodates up to 35 occupants and is one of eleven group sites open year-round for reservation. The site offers full shade and provides excellent access to Lake Isabella for waterskiing, boating, swimming, and fishing. The campground includes vault toilets, drinking water from faucets, picnic tables, and fire pits. Mobility-impaired access to the beach is available. Additional facilities at Camp 9 include a fish cleaning station, volleyball court, and an RV dump station available for $20 per use. A motocross track and shooting range are located nearby. This group site operates under a concessionaire permit with ExplorUS and requires reservations through Recreation.gov or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Quiet hours are enforced from 10pm to 6pm during the March through October season. Dogs are permitted on a 6-foot leash. Glass containers are prohibited along the Kern River and around Lake Isabella, including Camp 9. ATVs and OHVs are not allowed in the campground.

Directions

From Kernville, go south on Sierra Way/County Road 521, then turn west on access road to the lake.
